That's Not "Normal"
Listening to the Clues from the Body
There’s a strange thing that happens when we’ve been living disconnected for a while: we start calling imbalance normal.
Always tired? Normal.
Bloating after every meal? Normal.
Anxiety pulsing quietly in the background of the day? Normal.
Tension in the jaw, the belly, the low back? Just getting older, right?
We get used to the hum of misalignment. We adjust to the noise, the numbness, the low-level ache. Sometimes we forget how much we’re holding—or that it’s even possible to feel good.
But the body doesn’t forget.
It keeps whispering.
Sending clues.
Subtle cues at first—tightness, restlessness, fog. Then louder ones—fatigue, irritation, pain.
Not to punish you. Not because you’re broken. But because it loves you.
The body wants balance. It wants you to feel like yourself again.
And often, it begins with noticing.
Noticing what you’ve come to accept.
Noticing how certain foods, conversations, environments, or habits really make you feel.
Noticing how you use wellness “tools” to avoid feeling.
Noticing the ways you override your needs, even when your body is clearly asking for something else.
Noticing is where healing begins.
And it doesn’t have to be a grand overhaul. It can be as small as:
— pausing to feel yourself through a big emotion
— slowing your breath when your heart races
— choosing rest instead of pushing through
— drinking warm water before coffee
— asking, what do I need right now? and actually waiting for an answer
This is rewilding in real time.
Unlearning the hustle, the numbness, the performance.
Relearning how to listen. How to trust. How to return to yourself.
If nothing else, I hope today reminds you:
✨ You don’t have to wait until it gets louder.
✨ You don’t have to carry it all alone.
✨ You’re allowed to feel good in your body.
Let your noticing be an act of love.
