New Name, Deeper Intention
Why I chose to call this space rewilding together
I want to share something tender with you this week—a small shift that holds big meaning.
If you’ve been here since the beginning (a whole 4 weeks ago), you may have noticed this space now carries a new name: rewilding together.
When I created this Substack, I chose to call it Wild Kin Living, the name of my brand’s next evolution. And that name still holds a special place in my heart—it speaks to rooted nourishment, living in sync with nature, and community connection. But over these past few weeks, as I deepened my own practices and listened more closely to the my heart, something kept resurfacing:
This isn’t just about my journey.
It’s about ours.
It’s about unlearning and remembering together.
Not performing wellness or perfection, but softening back into our real selves—cyclical, sacred, seasonal.
Not rushing toward some ideal, photo-ready life, but walking slowly, with intention, in community.
Not just healing our bodies, but reshaping the way we live, relate, nourish, and show up in the world.
That’s what rewilding together means to me.
A shared path. A return to what’s real. A slower rhythm that honors the land, the body, the home, and the self.
And while so much of rewilding is about slowing down and shifting how we live outwardly—how we cook, gather, live— it also begins inwardly. With presence. With noticing. With remembering what’s going on beneath the surface of our day.
Before we move on, I’d love to share a simple practice you keep in your back pocket for anytime you feel untethered or unsure. A way to check in— not just with your thoughts, but with your body, your energy, and your deeper needs.
THE SACRED PAUSE — A Somatic Reset + Body Scan
1. Shake it out.
Start by gently shaking out your hands. Let your wrists go loose.
Then shake out your arms. Maybe your legs. Let sound come if it wants to—an exhale, a sigh, even a hum.
This movement tells your body: It’s safe to release. It’s safe to arrive.
Do this for 30 seconds to a minute.
2. Get grounded.
Find stillness—either seated, standing, or lying down. Let your feet (or body) connect with the earth beneath you. Soften your gaze or close your eyes.
3. Body scan: head to toe.
Take your awareness through your body, at whatever pace feels intuitive, pausing with curiosity:
Head & thoughts: Is my mind racing or spacious?
Jaw, neck, shoulders: Is there clenching or tension?
Heart space: What emotion is present? Can I name it?
Belly & gut: Any tightness, hunger, fluttering?
Legs & feet: Do I feel grounded? Restless? Still?
4. Ask yourself:
How do I feel?
What do I need?
Don’t overthink it. Just notice what arises. Sometimes the answer is as simple as: water. rest. connection. space. breath.
5. Act on one small need.
Let your check-in guide you toward one act of care:
Stretch. Sip tea. Step outside. Say no. Say yes. Rest your hand on your heart.
This is your moment to return—to your body, your rhythm, your truth.
Not by doing more, but by listening more deeply.
This is how we rewild, together, one sacred pause at a time.
Thank you for being part of this evolution; for witnessing my own rewilding in action through following my intuition, making intentional choices, and not being afraid to stumble as I figure things out.
GRATEFUL.
